Day 1

    • Gain an understanding of the history of the Dark Web.
    • Be able to differentiate between the Surface, Deep, and Dark Web.
    • Understand how Tor works.
    • How to access the Dark Web in a secure and safe manner.
  • Transportation
    • Develop the skillsets necessary to use OSINT in aviation and maritime tasking.
    • How to find and identify aviation & maritime assets.
    • Be able to identify vehicles, through a range of methods, that may be the subject of an investigation.
  • Alternative Social Media Platforms
    • Develop an understanding of the social media platforms that are in use.
    • How to gather OSINT from these platforms and their users.
  • People Search
    • Be able to understand, and use, various methodologies and tools that can be used to trace people.
    • How to leverage their digital footprint to aid in an investigation.

    • Gain an understanding of what DNS is and how it can aid in OSINT investigations.
    • The use of email header analysis from an OSINT perspective.
    • How to use image hosting sites for OSINT purposes.
    • Gain an understanding of how journalism resources can be leveraged in an investigation.
    • Understand what metadata is.
  • Cryptocurrency
    • Overview of cryptocurrency fundamentals.
    • Who the main players are in this rapidly developing area.
    • Cryptocurrency investigation techniques.
  • Geospatial Analysis
    • Understand the advantages and disadvantages of the main mapping platforms available.
    • How to task & exploit satellite capabilities for OSINT purposes.
  • Critical Thinking
    • Develop an understanding of how important critical thinking skills are.
    • Gain an appreciation of the use of misinformation and disinformation in the OSINT arena.
    • How to evaluate information on a website.
  • Report Methodology & Tooling
    • Develop an understanding of commercial off the shelf tools for investigative purposes.
    • Saving research & creating an audit trail.
  • Advanced Tradecraft
    • Understand the importance of Operational Security (OpSec).
